Lisa Oldson, MD (Host)

Dr. Lisa is your host, and she’ll give a fresh, new talk on increasing your healthspan. Her passion is helping people reach and maintain their healthy weight, by sharing the latest science and closing the door on unhelpful concepts like, "eat less, move more." Her programs focus not only on weight loss, but also on habit change to improve health and optimize the HEALTHSPAN. Longevity alone isn’t everything. Living longer HEALTHIER, is the goal.

Susan Scanlon, MD

At the Women’s Wellness Retreat, Susan Scanlon, MD will discuss the important topics of menopause, bone health, and hormone health. As women go through menopause, hormonal changes impact everything.

Dr. Susan will share practical strategies for maintaining well-being during this phase of life. This session will provide valuable insights to help women navigate menopause with confidence and strength.

Mary Faith Terkildsen, MD

Join us for an empowering session with Dr. Terkildsen as she dives into the often-overlooked topic of women’s sexual health. From understanding your body to improving intimacy and overall well-being, She will guide us through practical tips for embracing sexual health at every stage of life.

Mary Faith Terkildsen, MD, FACOG, IF is a board-certified gynecologist and AASECT-certified sex counselor. In general OB/Gyn private practice, her patients frequently had questions and concerns about sexual function, but as physicians get no formal training related to sexual health during medical school or residency, she felt that she had few good answers for her patients and was frustrated that her patients were not getting the care they needed.

Karyn Byrne, PhD

Karyn is a passionate therapist and community psychologist dedicated to redefining wellness. Her personal journey, once dominated by the pursuit of thinness, underwent a profound transformation through the experiences of motherhood and journey of self reflection. This shift allowed her to find happiness independent of physical appearance, embracing a sense of contentment that transcends body image.

Karyn’s current research focuses on the intricate relationship between stress, mindset, and health. Her groundbreaking work in this area earned her the Outstanding Dissertation Award in Advancing Professional Practice in 2023. Karyn believes that while our mind and body are connected, our true essence is far greater than the sum of these parts.

Laura Swartzbaugh, PhD

Laura is CEO of Laura Scout Coaching, which helps women shut up their inner critic and build a life they actually want. Her superpowers include her intuitive, lightning-fast coaching, her natural compassion and playfulness, and her belief that self trust can save the world.

Laura’s on a mission to help as many women as possible say goodbye to the lives they think they should have and create the ones they authentically desire. After just a single session, her clients feel empowered, motivated, and find themselves taking concrete action towards their goals even if they’ve felt stalled for months.

Mary Leopold

Mary is a psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience, specializing in treating children and adults. Her practice in Northbrook, Illinois, focuses on the vital connection between mind and body. After earning her health coach certification in 2017 from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she deepened her interest in integrating mental health and nutrition. She uses a range of complementary approaches tailored to each individual, aiming to help clients achieve emotional, physical, and mental balance. She's excited to be part of the retreat weekend, and looks forward to discussing how to manage challenging relationships while maintaining a healthy mind and body.

Sarah Squires-Doyle

Sarah has spent over 25 years in health promotion and disease prevention as an educator, coach, and consultant, helping countless individuals and organizations enhance their health and longevity. About five years ago, after facing significant losses and stress-related health issues, she discovered the healing power of expressive writing. This new passion led her to become a Master Trained Memoir Teacher and start a career in expressive writing, focusing on its therapeutic benefits. She now leads workshops and writing groups, helping participants experience the healing process of writing, rather than focusing on crafting perfect stories.
