MeetĀ Dr. Lisa

After many years as a primary care physician at Northwestern in Chicago, I obtained board certification in Obesity Medicine and found my niche. Excess weight contributes to health conditions from diabetes to hypertension, high cholesterol to arthritis, infertility to depression, and even many types of cancer. By treating the underlying weight, I address these complications at the root of the problem.Ā

Chronic, excess weight is not your fault. It’s not caused by a lack of willpower or a personality flaw.Ā It is a medical condition, caused by genetics, hormones, neurobehavioral factors, and our environment. At Weight Loss Strategy Lab, we understand all of that, and we can help.

While nutrition, movement, mindset and behavioral changes are key tools in my toolbox, medication and referral for weight loss surgery are other modalities we may utilize. My approach is collaborative and respectful. I know this isn’t your first rodeo, and I know you don’t need a lecture about potato chips. You will never hear, ā€œmove more, eat lessā€ from me. Identifying client motivation and playing off of a person's strengths are key. Our focus will be on data driven recommendations, for you to create an individualized treatment plan that is grounded in science.Ā

Dr.Ā Lisa lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her two children, her husband and various pets. She may be excruciatingly slow when she jogs or bikes, but she's a decent tango dancer.
